How do I delete a section of a clip and the corresponding audio

How do I delete a section of a clip and the corresponding audio, the audio is not a connected clip to the clip in question, whats the best way of deleting both at the same time?

Mark a range with the range selection tool, or with the I and O keys and press delete.

I want to delete both at the same time, the audio is not connected to the clip it is connected to a previous clip so the range tool only ranges over the video clip. Am I missing something, I could create a cut in the audio clip and connect to video clip but I was wondering if there was a way of selecting both the video and audio when the audio is not a connected clip.

Sorry I misunderstood. Use Shift-Cmd-B to blade across all the layers at the skimmer/playhead.
