Updating Final Cut Pro to 10.1 was created by Douglaseye
It has been so long since I updated Final Cut Pro, I have forgotten how. I am updating from 10.0.9 to 10.1 but when I log into the App Store I see no option to upgrade when I search for Final Cut Pro. What am I doing wrong?

Make sure you're signed into the App Store with the Apple ID that was used to purchase it. See if the application appears in the Purchases page. If it does and the update does not appear, move the application from the Applications folder to the trash and redownload it from the Purchases page of the App Store.

Thank you, Tom! That worked fine. One other question: on the Import screen when importing into Final Cut, how do you get your Mac Desktop to show as a destination for importing files?

In the import window sidebar there should be any icon for the Desktop. What are you seeing?

I see 'Cameras,' 'Devices' and 'Favorites' in the left-hand column, but no option for Desktop. And it doesn't show in the import field at the bottom of the screen -- just two import options for the content in my Mac Hard Drive Icon and my external La Cie hard drive.

You see nothing under favorites? Maybe you need to reset your preferences. You should see the home user and desktop. Under devices you should also see your hard drive. You can select that and navigate to Users/home user/Desktop
