Why does a project all of a sudden turn all white?? was created by chk70
In the middle of editing the whole project turned white, I can see some of the blue handels but that´s about it. Why would this happen?

What version of FCP X are you using and what OS are you running?
Can you post a screenshot of the project timeline?

Ronny,
Latest of both. I´ll take a screenshot next time it happens. I just turn M5 of and on again and it´s back to normal but it´s a pain in the butt.

Hi Henrik,
Do you mean CMD+5, which switches the Effects Browser on and off? In that case you have a thumbnail restore problem. Nothing to worry about, but it's indeed a pain in the butt. There are a few things you can do to fix this:
First try Window > Revert to Original Layout. This restores the FCP X window layout to its default state and it forces the thumbnails to their default state as well.
If this does not help you can delete your FCP X preferences (launch FCP X while holding down the ALT+CMD keys). Just be aware that after this you will have to re-enter any custom preferences you have set.
If this still doesn't help the last method is the most efficient one, but it's outside of FCP X.
With FCP X shut down, open the Library package of the problematic project. In the Library open the Event folder and inside that folder open the Render Files folder and trash the Thumbnails.
When you re-launch FCP X, give it time to re-generate all the thumbnails for that Event. Depending on the amount of clips you have this may take some time.
If the problem persists, or if you also have the same problem on more than one project, you may have a graphics card issue.
