Audio timecodes was created by Emmanuel
Hi guys
I've sent some audio tracks to a designer for some audio restoration, with the timecodes of the corresponding issues to fix.
In FCPX, I get strange timecodes (starting with 20h17min and so on). In FCP7, I get the same timcodes.
However my designer (Pro Tools) is not seeing the same: he simply sees a normal timecode from 00:00
Do you know what can be going on, and how to communicate with him over the timecodes ?
Thanks a lot for your help !!
Manu

That wouldn't change anything - except you select "Frames", but then no HH:MM… would be displayed.BenB wrote: Preferences > General, what do you have set for timecode format?

Is it simply that Pro Tools doesn't read timecodes, and that it only see the timecode of the timeline ?

You may try my old analyzer app for FCP in case it's a "modern" .wav file. It will tell you about the data inside the .wav.

Thanks !
I'm not sure what is a modern .WAV file to be honest
It has been recorded on a Tascam or Zoom, I don't remember. But in your app it says no XML file found

Do you have the option to post a link to one of your files to download.
A Zoom file for sure doesn't have any XML metadata, a Tascam one should have.

The TC FCP(X) reads from the file is correct. Both apps take that from the so called "bext" header of the file.
I have no idea why PT doesn't.
To reset the TC to 00:00:00:00 you have to export the files as .wav file.
