manipulate multiple stills at once (specifically ken burns effect) in FCPX

apply ken burns effect, with variable movement, to multiple stills at once in FCPX. my current work around is to edit stills in iMovie and import small projects into FCPX to add music, etc... to finish the piece. can FCPX offer a more efficient solution?

You can add multiple images to the timeline, then select them all and change crop type to Ken Burns in the inspector.
You will then have the default Ken Burns applied to all of the images.
