Hi All,

FCP just crashed while I was adding a crossfade and when I opened it back up the Event for the project I was working on had the yellow exclamation sign, and the project I was working on was not in the "Projects" section of the all clips display.

I have a full library backup from a few minutes ago and have tried replacing the two CurrentVersion.fcpevent files depicted in the image below (the main one for the event, and the project one):

which has fixed similar issues for me in the past but the exclamation is still there and the project is still gone (the other projects associated with this event are fine).

Can anyone recommend a proper course of action to resolve this and/or let me know how to get more information as to what FCP thinks the problem is (description of exclamation reason, etc)? I have 10.1.3. Thanks.

I just also tried deleting the libraries CurrentVersion.flexolibrary, the render files for the event, and deleting the FCP preferences but none of that worked.

Interesting when reloading the library after trashing the preferences I saw it loading the project name in question (the progress bar filling up etc), but the exclamation point is there and still no project.

Hmm... I just loaded a backup from an hour before and that Project is there, but a different one from the same event is missing.... does anyone have ideas? Stressing out a bit, so assistance would be much appreciated.

I've been experimenting with making new projects and moving the current versions from the missing ones into it, and that works...but still issues. It seems that what is occurring is that my event can only reference up to 4 projects, and any more (the specific ones being randomly determined every time I ditch the mail flexolibrary), are missing.

FCPX makes autoomatic project backups in your 'User>Movies>Final Cut Backups' folder.
You can also usually see them under fcpx's File menu titled 'backups'.

Yes; those are what I've been using to replace the files I mentioned. I managed to get all my projects back using some legerdemain with new projects as mentioned above, but I still have the exclamation point. Maybe after I'm done with this I'll make a new event and move everything over to get rid of it.
