Crossposted elsewhere but... The results of my highly technical scientific tests are in! FCP X 10.1.3 works fine in Yosemite. Snappy even! No problems yet , and I’ve been hammering it for a while. Go for it!
Also, for what it’s worth… FCP 7, Adobe Pr and AE CC, and Soundtrack Pro are all good as well. No functionality differences from Mavericks as far as I can tell. Avid MC 8 appears to be OK, though I haven’t done much in it, and Resolve 11 seems OK too, though I had to switch the GPU to use OpenCL rather than CUDA. (2012 iMac) Might just be me though.
So… All good, dive in!. But, if it all blows up… don’t blame me!

It hasn't been high on my priority list to test, so I just discovered tonight that Motion 4 apparently didn't survive the OS upgrade. At least I couldn't get it install, and a quick search indicates that it's not working for others. No huge loss (because I have a working copy of FCS 3 on 10.6) and I'm doing nearly everything now in X et al), but I was a bit sad to see Motion 4 fall by the wayside.

It opens for me, no idea if it works though as I've got no optical drive in my iMac.

Well, I imported a couple files and it seemed to work. Don't take my word for it though.
I did get these two folders in the dock, not sure if that's normal or not...

yea, that's typically normal for me. not sure what they are, or if it's a cause ever since Lion, but they've been there before

I can't say conclusively that DVDSP works because while I do have a burner, it seems to be malfunctioning. But it seems to work - through the build process. Oddly when I made a disk image I couldn't open/attach it (image not recognized).
