Delete Analysis Optical Flow Files? was created by blakedog98
Hello,
I am using FCPX 10.1.3, and am winding down a video project that I've been working on for the past few months. I would like to reduce the file size of my libraries where possible. I have already gone ahead using the FCPX menus to "Delete Generated Library Files" / "Delete Render Files" / "All". I have also checked "Delete Optimized Media" and "Delete Proxy Media" (though I don't use optimized media or proxy media). This has all worked fine. It reduces library file sizes to some degree, and I know that I can always re-render any projects if I need to. However, there are still some very large files sitting in the folder "Analysis Files" / "Optical Flow" which by far account for much of the remaining size of the libraries. I do recall I played around with Optical Flow for a couple of clips over the last months.
My question is, is there a way to delete these large Optical Flow files, and if so, is there any downside to doing so?
Thanks very much.

You can remove them at any time. Like render files they'll ne recreated when needed by activating stabilization.

Thanks for the input, Tom. How do you recommend I delete the Optical Flow files...I don't see a way to do it, at least through the FCPX software? I am on FCPX 10.1.3

Unfortunately no way inside FCP. You have to go into the library bundle and delete them.
