Just doing a quick edit on some short 6 min and 8 min video's 1920 × 1080 both about 170 mb mp4 and i've added a couple of transitions which keep stuttering on playback so that I cant see the effect they are having, i'm working off my hardrive which has lot of space and my computer tells me i've got 8 gb of RAM spare, any ideas on why this is happening??

Render All (Control-Shift-R) and Render Selection (Control-R) are both in the Modify menu, very last commands there.
