I was wondering if it is possible to achieve a fade that fades from the outside to the center instead of the entire video at once. I think I can do this with masking and some experimentation, but I just want to see.

It's used a lot in this video--I actually love all the effects in this video:

Super easy to create in Motion for FCPX. Just animate a feathered mask as a transition to black. Like a Vignette styled Fade-To-Black transitions. Common transition, I may have to make one tomorrow...
