Hi! I was wondering if I could have a flickering light effect? It's not a strobe kind, where the video flickers between this and that, but one that is kind of like keyframing the exposure--which you can't do.

It's used in this video (sorry if it doesn't show up--I'm new to this site):

Easy, in Motion 5. You simply change the Group the clip is in to a 3D Group, then add a Light, adjust as needed. Then either apply a Parameter Behavior to the X parameter, or keyframe it manually.

This article may help.

Thanks, but I unfortunately don't have Motion.

Editing programs I have: FCPX, iMovie, After Effects.

You really need to get Motion if you have FCPX. I just happen to have a recent effects template for FCPX I created, which had the basic tools for this. Play with keyframing some of the Spot light parameters, set Ambient Intensity to zero, you'll get what you're looking for.

Wow Ben! Really cool of you to give the effects away for free! Just checking if it is completely royalty-free from your side?
