Mike Thornton's Video Tutorials on iZotope RX 4
At five hours and 20 minutes, looks to be expanded a fair bit from his excellent series on RX 3.

Some comments...
If one is thinking of buying RX for the first time, this is US$35 very well spent.
That said, about two weeks ago I upgraded from RX 3 Advanced to RX 4 Advanced. Thornton's series effectively confirms my view that the new features in RX 4 Advanced are best characterized as tweaks, have mostly to do with workflow and will be of interest principally to full-time sound editors. But given iZotope's policy on upgrade price (going from RX 2 to RX 4 is full price), RX 3 Advanced owners are pretty much pushed into purchasing an upgrade even if the new features, from a substantive perspective, are of marginal interest.
iZotope, and Thornton in his videos, strongly push RX 4's streamlined round-trip integration/workflow with DAWs. Thornton effectively says in his videos that this will work with any major DAW. In fact, as iZotope acknowledges rather deep within the bowels of its website, and which Thornton never even suggests in his video series, it won't. For example, it won't work with Logic Pro and Final Cut, nor does iZotope suggest on its web site that these "headline" features ever will work with Logic or Final Cut.
I know that Thornton and iZotope have a commercial relationship, but in his RX 3 series, and also in some of the videos on RX 3 that he has posted to YouTube, Thornton came across as a reasonably honest broker. In his latest series, his suggestion that one of the most highly touted features of RX 4 will work in any major DAW, which is in fact untrue, does a great deal of damage to his credibility. It's important enough that Groove3 should correct it.
Apart from that, I think that his videos on RX 3 are a model of how video tutorials should be done, but that the new material for RX 4 (much of the RX 3 material is understandably recycled) comes off, in places, as rather rushed and sloppy.
That said, I think that anyone thinking of purchasing RX, or upgrading, should watch the series, and also watch his YouTube videos on dialogue editing with RX.

Well this isn't accurate at all. It certainly works with Logic.

You don't understand what iZotope RX Connect is. I suggest you look at iZotope's RX Connect FAQ, which says expressly that it will not work with Logic or Final Cut: www.izotope.com/support/kb/index.php/kb/...e/644-rx_connect_faq
Indeed, the URL to which you referred effectively underlines the fact that RX Connect won't work with the Apple programmes.
And if iZotope's own documentation won't convince you, I can tell you for a fact, as a user of RX 4, that RX Connect won't work with either app.

BenB wrote: It states that RX Connect works with Logic Pro X and Final Cut Pro X as an external editor. That means, you set that in the app's preferences, and it round trips seamlessly. So yes, it does in fact work with Apple apps.
And, as an RX 4 user, I used it in LPX just today, just fine.
Honestly, I don't know what to say at this point. You are now the second person in a row in this thread who doesn't know what RX Connect is, despite the fact that it is one of the major marketing points of RX 4. If you own RX 4, you obviously haven't tried to use Connect. If you did, you would know that you will get a warning message telling you that what you are about to do is "not recommended".
The whole point about RX Connect is that one doesn't need to use RX as an external editor. Hence, the two lists in the FAQ, the first of which you are ignoring:
The posts by you and musikguy mostly establish that iZotope is doing a great job, with the help of Thornton and Groove3, of selling this feature to people who (a) don't actually know what it is and (b) don't understand that it won't work with Logic and Final Cut.

That is not exactly the claim iZotope makes. I'll quote the iZotope web site.
"The RX Connect plug-in sends a clip, or multiple clips, to the RX 4 standalone application for editing and repair. This gives you access to all of RX 4's modules in one place, and provides the benefits of RX's offline processing and visual interface. RX Connect is available from the AudioSuite menu in Pro Tools, or as an AU or VST plug-in from your host's effects menu."

This is now becoming an issue of semantics. If you prefer, I'll use the phrase that I used earlier in this thread - "streamlined round-trip integration/workflow with DAWs".
The bottom line is that RX Connect does not work with Apple's apps.

The fact is, iZotope RX 4's highly touted Connect does not work with Logic or Final Cut. iZotope itself says that it doesn't work. Hopefully it will work in the future, but iZotope has given no indication that it will.
If your new point is that one can use both Logic/Final Cut and iZotope RX, that is blindingly obvious. Lots of people, including me, use both.
I realize that you have made over 7,000 posts here, but at this point it seems to me that the discussion has become decidedly divorced from reality.
