1080i Not Transcoding on Import was created by E Train
Hi,
I want to transcode the 1080i footage from my Canon XA10 into the latest FCPX on the external hard drive attached to my MacBook Pro.
Now, this footage HAS had already been imported in NATIVE form into another event/library. Should this matter, if I'm trying to re-import the native footage again as optimized media?
My plan is to test if optimized media creates a clearly faster work flow. However, the optimized media representation is in RED in the inspector. I did check the box for optimized media before importing.
Basically, underneath it all, I'm just trying to find the fastest workflow as I import 1080i from my XA10. The huge 1080i footage will need to be compressed to a 720 YouTube video.
Thanks for your time
