Change default location of initial Library? was created by paulkyle
Hi -
I manage a large number of shared FCPX systems at a college. When FCPX is launched the first time it creates an "Untitled" Library in the Home->Movies Folder. Is there a way to change this default path? This is important as the way our system works we "wipe"the systems on every logout so students have a clean template. Modifying a .plist or somesuch would be a fine solution.
Thanks!
Paul

There isn't a way to change this. Could you get the wipe function to leave Untitled intact?

Leaving the "Untitled" Library in place is conceivably possible, but as these are heavily shared systems, every event in a library not saved would gang in this default, creating new problems.
I did just remember you can hold option key on start and this effectively does what I asked for, but it is not ideal with many first time students in our environment. BTW, the "DefaultDestinations.plist" in the FCPX package contents is not in a format for editing.
