66 percent completion issue when sharing

I completed a new project in an I-mac 3.5ghz I7 with 16gig ram and had successfully burned projects, but now I can only get to 66% and the background taske "Sharing" hangs. I am trying to burn a regular DVD and it won't even spin the drive. I have tried a different project, A different DVD, and removing/rerendering render files. I am running 10.1.2, and will upgrade soon, but it looks like that doesn'r adress this issue (only in Blue Ray)

I have also tried sharing to a DVD folder on the HD but that too stopped at 66%. Earlier in the day I was able to share to H264 and burn that to a DVD. Rebooted, updated the OS. I am stuck.

There is an app embedded in FCP called CreateDisk to handle the dish burning part of the process. Sometimes the menu background image has been identified as a cause. Try deleting and replacing any image. If there was no background image, in the menu dialog hit the Add button and then cancel to see if that kickstarts the process.

If that doesn't work, I'd consider going to 10.1.3. Retain a copy of 10.1.2 just in case you have any upgrade issues.

You might have a bad render file hanging the system. Trash those, turn off background rendering after trashing also your prefs, see if that helps.

I had and issue where it would just stop exporting when coming to a certain plug-in effect. It sometimes worked if I rendered everything then exporting.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Darren, yours seemed to do the trick. I deleted the render files and then turned background tasks off in the preferences. Despite the entire timeline being unrendered the burn worked. My guess is that the disk image had been created (to 66%) and some hang up with the render process was preventing it from completing. More testing to do, and more to learn with Pro, but current challenge solved.
