Layered PSD imports as 60p, need 30p.

Hi everyone.

I am probably doing something wrong, but when I import a Photoshop file into FCP X, it imports as a 60p clip.

Normally this is fine if I am using a still image with no layers, I can just trim the length of that "clip".

But if I want to animate layers within FCP X, it seems like I need to use re-timing to have the animation play at the 30p rate of my time line.

So is there a way to convert the 60p clip to 30p? I've poked around the inspector et al. Or is re-timing the only way?

Thanks so much.

Jonathan

any still imported into FCPX seems to have a 60p frame-rate - at last the Inspector tells so - which is nonsense, for sure, a still has no frame rate.

E.g.: Dragging 2sec of still into any 24/25/29.97/30/.. project is 2sec long. No need for re-timing, conforming etc.

FCPX is time-based; ...

If you open the PSD layered file from inside a project you shouldn't have to retime.

OK. I think I see how you do this: After import to project, adjust the clip length first, then do animation.
