Sony PMW 200 transfer (takes forever) was created by alven
I have been borrowing a PMW 200 camera, and I just just about to transfer the media before turning it back.
To my surprise about 30BG takes about 10 hours!!
So is there any way I can speed this up?
I am actually not using FCP for this. Its a project I will be using Avid. When we imported footage in class I think we transcoded the media, but I dont have Avid installed here yet, so I'm pretty much just copying the clips from the camera to an external hard drive using USB 2.0.
Any tips on how to do this in a better way?

USB 2.0 are super slow drives, never use them for editing.

The drive is 3.0 but the USB cable from the camera is 2.0
But I tried transferring directly to my computer, and that only takes about 20 min now, so that helped a lot!
