How to export a clip from FCPX? was created by funkpost
Hi
I want to work with a few seconds of a longer shot inside Motion. As there isn't any "Open clip in Motion" when I right click on the clip (or search the menus), I suppose I will have to export the clip and import it into Motion.
But… How do I export a clip? The "Export Media" exports the whole sequence, not the small selected clip!
Thanks in advance!

You still use export media, but you can copy and paste your clip into a new project/sequence then export that project for Motion.

You can also send a project to compressor and inside of compressor trim the clip that you want to export. Not nearly as useful as the old export to quicktime in FCP 7 or round-tripping to Motion, but for the time being, tis what we've got.
