Time stretch audio in FCPX? was created by DmitriZigany
Hey!
I shot a music video for a band. They played the song with click track to then record the song later (because time issues). Problem is they managed to record the song in a slightly different tempo...
How is the time stretch of audio in FCPX? Anyone have experience?
Will it stretch audio without changing pitch? Will there be audible artifacts?
Is there a simple way of sending the audio to Logic (or Digital Performer) and back?
Thanks

Ok, found this that at least explained the pitch:
But still curious how people find the quality of the time stretch?
I only had to slow it down to 99% so no big changes... Guess they have to live with any sound degradations hehe

Next issue.
I have the multicam set up with all the angles and the now time stretched audio file.
When one angle is chosen to be the active in the timeline and the audio file angle as the active audio angle, things sound good. But as soon as I start doing edits cutting to different angles (audio angle stays the same) there is audio pops at some, but not all, of the edits... WTF!?

Hey Dmitri,
Export the time-stretched audio as an AIFF file, then use this file in your multi cam clip.

Yes, I ended up doing just that. Not putting it in the Multicam now even just to be sure
