How can I show ScreenCaptures like this? was created by mojomikefsu
I'm working on several videos over the next few weeks for a company that wants to show different features of the software that they make. We got some beautiful "off the screen" slider shots of people typing and moving the mouse around, but we also want to get some high quality screen captures of the product. My goal is to make a video similar to this video from ASANA.
blog.asana.com/2014/01/calendars/
(high quality screen captures around :15 mark)
I like that these are clean and have a professional look to them. I contacted Asana and they said this was done in FCPX, but couldn't tell me more of how. If I had to guess I would assume that the screen grabs were recorded at a high resolution (not sure which software would do that?) so they could be zoomed into so close. There also seems to be a slight 3D distort or camera angle instead of a head on approach (not sure if that is a plugin or how they got that look). Lastly there is a focus, which I'm assuming I could add via the Focus filter in FCPX.
Was wondering if anyone has seen anything like this, or would know how to achieve a similar look.

I do professional training videos, have for years, and nothing beats ScreenFlow. Resolution independent (zooms are amazing), treats the mouse cursor as a customizable sprite, great editing tools, etc.

... just to add to Ben's excellent suggestion, and as a consumer of tutorials:
ALL professionally done tutorials I'm aware of, are done with Screenflow!
You can recognize it by a few exclusive features, e.g that 'Radar ping' on mouse-click etc...
… And it let's you export projects in any Quicktime-format, such as proRes, for further editing in FCPX.

Same as Karsten I'm more a consumer of "Screen Capture Videos".
But also same as he I would follow Ben's advice.
A fun thing with the video link provided is that the creator of this movie beats himself.
They used their CC subtitle package and created subtitles both in the video itself and the CC stream resulting in a final stream where both of them are overlapping and make no sense.

I think I may have found the 3D Camera look portion of this...
Was researching and found this effect from FCP EFFECTS...
www.fcpeffects.com/pages/3d-perspective-demo
The effect looks almost identical to the Asana video and looks to have easy and on screen controls, even for the soft focus areas.

Hi
I have used that plugin for exactly that job before. We screen capture using a complicated AJA Kipro system but I have used ScreenFlow also
