Auto Tracing in Motion or FCPX

I want to pull off the effect done here in the following video



I got stuck with the auto trace part. Any suggestions, including possible plugins, on how to pull this effect off in motion 5?

Don't think Motion will do what you have there. Don't know if there is any plugin for Motion doing this. I'm sure one could be written, but not aware of one.

Studio Artist will do it just fine, but it is a steep learning curve. If you have need for artistic effects often, SA is well worth the time to learn it.

Thanks for the reply BenB. I've googled and visited different sites and haven't been able to find a plugin or tutorial for motion or fcp that will help with this. I will probably not invest in Studio Artist at this time seeing that I'm just interested in coming up with a video into and when I saw the "sketch pad..." video on Youtube I thought it would be a pretty cool intro. Thank you again.

I wouldn't mind your help, however for the video series (drum covers) that I am doing the intros would differ for each video.. Thanks though.
