Hi,
just purchased this product from Crumplepop site, but after I installed can't see it on my fcpx.
In the site there is no information at all, and they don't reply my emails.
Anyone here that uses Lumineux can give me a help?

Thanks in advance

Hi Raff, welcome to the forum.
The Lumineux light leaks are QT movies that you put above a clip in the timeline. Then you select the light leak clip on the timeline and in the Inspector > Video tab Compositing you set its Composite Mode to "Add" to composite the light leak clip over the underlying clip.
You should find a folder containing the Lumineux light leak clips on your hard drive. You can import the leaks you need into your project Library, or you can create a dedicated "Light Leaks" Library in FCP X and import the complete folder into that Library. This way you can always access all light leaks by opening the "Effects" Library, and you can preview them in the FCP X Browser.

If you do create a Library for stock video, images, sfx, etc, I recommend making the media External, so it doesn't physically duplicate when you have to copy it to other Libraries.

Yes, it can be a little intimidating if you have never worked with composite modes.
The principle is simple: the light leaks have been recorded on a black background. When you put a light leaks clip on top of another clip and you set the Composite Mode of the light leaks clip to "Add" the black of the light leaks clip will become transparent and the light leaks will be "added" on top of the video of the underlying clip. It's a process that is very commonly used in compositing.

Well, it looks like it will take me a time to reach that part.
I dont know how to create a dedicated Library for the light leaks, I like the idea of preview them in the browser while im working.
Im just watching a tutorial on how to create libraries, but fcpx version im using doesnt have this option when go to menu/new library.
Im using 10.0.9 , how can I proceed with this version of fcpx?

Update to 10.1.3. It's free and it is SO much better
In 10.0.9 you just import the light leaks that you need and use them in your timeline. If you want to create effects collections using external media you absolutely need to update. 10.0.9 is not really fit for doing such things.

Ok, I see the update as a good option cause i tried to use the transitions the way to explained to me and it doesnt work as a regular transition, but as a next video region between the two clips, I expected that it holds the two clips so you can adjust, etc, as you can do with the regular transitions.
My OS version is snow leopard 10.6.8 , it will work on this version?
