It's all in the video far more clearly than could be explained here, but in short synchronising a video with 2 sources of audio is not behaving as I would expect. i am fully expecting that I am making an incorrect assumption about how to achieve what I am trying to achieve and I'm throwing it out to the collective genius of these forms! Thanks in advance all

Hmm I don't see any video but here's a really good header on how to work with multicam. Synchronization would only be one audio and video track:
