Title Transitions Affecting Entire Clip was created by Videopixels
Hi
Just wondering if some knows a way around this. When I apply a simple blur to a title it affects the entire clip.
A normal simple dissolve (cmd-t) works perfectly fine. Read somewhere applying it to a compound clip sorts out the issue but it doesn't.

Yes, the title clip, and all graphical elements built in to it, are going to be influenced equally by any effect you add. Right-Click and Open A Copy In Motion, then add the blur to the text layer(s) only. Publish the amount, etc.

Thanks Ben.
The title is a basic title thou, no other elements to it.

Open the transition in Motion. It has to be modified there. Or you could use a simple blur animation effect to bring the text onto the screen.

Thanks so much Tom.
Seems terribly complicated for something really simple especially without motion round tripping not possible with FCP X. Will just stick to simple dissolves. For anything more fancy where I have to leave FCP X I will use AE or Motion.
It just seems strange the alpha channel with the blur transition does not "see" the text in the simple title. When I have time will also check to see if other transitions do the same with a simple title.

It's dependent on how the transition is built. Many, such as Simple, are built to interact between adjacent clips. You can easily modify it in Motion and create your own transition for use in FCP, which for this type of thing is far superior to roundtripping, where you would need to export and build separate projects for every single title.

Duh, you are so right.
I will create my own simple blur to use when I want sitting snuggly in FCP X.
Appreciate the feedback.
