Never seen that... does it show up in the timeline view, or just multi cam? If you have X set to generate optimized media for multi cam (which I think is on by default) perhaps it got messed up somehow? If so, try selecting the Event containing the multi cam clip, choose Delete Generated Event Files from the File menu, check the box for Optimized media and delete it. Heck you can delete the Render files and Proxies if they exist as well just to be sure. No harm, other than it'll need to regenerate it. Dunno if that's it, but I'd start there...

What are your hardware specs?
I once saw such a 'smear' in video, not in FinalCut, on a 'hackintosh' .... graphic card issues ... no idea, I'm no hardware guy ... prefer the 'open box, plug in, use it'-scheme .......

Well.... deleting the render files fixed it. Thanks. Should have tried that first.
Specs are nMP - 6 core, 32GB ram, 512GB HDD, Pegasys2 R4, D700's with 2-27" Apple thunderbolt displays.

Cool, always nice when it's an easy fix.
