Delete unused parts of a single clip was created by damiangrady

I've searched the forums for an answer to this and it would 'appear' deleting unused parts of a clip can't be done at the moment in FCPX. I'm hoping that that's not he case and someone has a funky way of doing it.

I know how to remove unused clips via the copy to new library workflow but I have a 10 minute clip that I have only used 30 seconds of and want to ditch the unused parts.

Anyone?

Not possible at this time, and there are no funky workarounds either.

Of course if this is only one clip you can export the short part you have used on the timeline as a Master File, import the Master File and replace the clip in the timeline with the short clip. Then you can safely delete the 10 minute original clip.
