color sync issue in fcpx

posted this in the apple forum as well but of course there is no help there...so i am trying it here:

i am on a nMP 8core and using 2 calibrated monitors, in fcpx i use monitor 1 for all controls and 2 to play footage and to judge adjustments/color correct,....
everything looks great, i can export footage and it looks great....
i export stills, full size TIFFs and here comes the problem...on monitor 1 opened in (for example) preview (or aperture) they look perfect....if i drag that same window into monitor 2, the color is way off....the worst thing is that i can do this while the same image is still on 2 (leftover from the fcpx viewer) and the window i drag in is the same shot but the color is off.....dragging the window back to 1 color is good again.....
in aperture i can span the 2 monitors and have the same image open in both....correct on 1, off on 2....

i can't wrap my head around it...image on 2 is fine in fcpx, exports motion fine, stills exports look fine on 1 but wrong on 2? i have to add that the stills also print ok, so the files seem to be good....

i guess my problem is that i can't control the color space in fcpx at all...i don't know what i am working in, how i am exporting clips and how i am exporting stills....no way to control that....

if i calibrate screen 2 again and somehow get the stills to show up the same on 1 and 2, screen 2 becomes useless for fcpx because the color grading/adjustments i would be doing (according to what i see on 2) would be off for stills and motion exports....

anyone with an idea?

FCPX works and processes in RGB profile.
