Look alike there is a bug regarding the Backup Process.
After the update FCPX will not stop backing up the Library every few seconds which puts FCPX on a halt when playing footage.

Strange, because 10.1.3 specifically addresses an issue with the Backup process. I don't see problems with Backups happening on my system. Did you refresh your FCP X preferences after updating?

Definitely getting this bug on 3 Macs so far. Only workaround i've found so far is to turn off those backups.

I do not have this issue and I use Backups For Final Cut Pro, so I do not need auto backup, but how can I disable it ?

When you click on the Library in the event browser, in the inspection "library properties" window you have a "modify settings" button that leads to the last image on this page, where you choose to store your backups. Default is "Final Cut Backups" which is a folder that FCP X created and resides in the user's home>movies folder.
support.apple.com/kb/HT5958
One of the options in that drop-down is to choose not to backup.
Note: you'd have to turn this off for each library.

I've been seeing this issue as well. However, it was just happening to Libraries I have on a server. When they are placed on my desktop, the problem seems to go away.

I read your answers, I have the same problem with FinalCut pro x, the voice backup continues to loop in the background ..
in library settings "storage location" I set "do not save" but continues to do so ..
here is an example of what happens to me:
If you have for news about this problem?
many thanks to all for your kindness

You've got backups off for *all* libraries? That's worked for me every time. We've got many many many libraries, so it's a pain to do, but it's working for us. Every new library you make is set to turn on those backups by default. Even if the library is empty.
