Updated all three apps and the app store shows current version purchases on my account. Motion is still at 5.1.1 and Compressor is at 4.1.2 even though the updates page shows the newest versions. Tried deleting Compressor and re-downloading thru app store but it shows already installed. Any ideas? FCPX runs correctly at 10.1.3.

That's odd. Mine are all showing latest versions.

You likely have more than one copy and the other copy is being found. Look in spotlight for Motion. How many in the Applications section? Use cmd-opt to see the version and location.

Thank you, marchyman. I had a folder called ProApplications that I created on a third internal drive where I keep copies of these apps. Strangely enough, the app store update placed the 5.1.2 version of Motion in that folder as well as the 4.1.3 version of compressor. My actual applications folder had the 5.1.1. Motion and no Compressor, since I deleted that. This is the first time an app update ever went to the ProApplications folder. The FCPX 10.1.3 was correctly updated and in the applications folder, even though I also had a copy of 10.1.2 in the ProApplications folder. But thanks for the info, problem solved
