FCPX Slow performance /rendering / exports was created by BoucheM
Hi - am having big problems with making edits and very slow subsequent rendering and exports for projects only 5 mins long
Just started using a 4TB WD Thunderbolt Duo drive which was fine for a week but now started to be really slow. The drive performs the same on my other Macs so perhaps it's something settings/drive related rather than Mac or FCPX itself. Have tried the working on two iMacs, 12GB and 16Gb and same problems with both.
Any advice much appreciated!
Thanks.

I should add the projects seem fine until I start making changes/edits.

What percentage free space do you have on your boot drive?
Is there anything unusual about the media inn these recent projects?

Check if Spotlight suddenly is re-Indexing.
Might want to run DiskWarrior to repair any directory damage.

Will try that thanks. Lots of space on HC, about 3TB. Cheers for your help everyone.

Another thought… if it is still slow, try booting in safe mode and/or running from a new user account.
