Warning about Pixel Film Studios Lower Thirds Plugin

Just tried to use their lower third plugin and it is unusable. You cannot control text, build in speed or build out speed. I needed the lower third to stay on the screen a fair while but just extending the length meant that the build in lasted for ages as does the build out making it useless.

I personally will never deal with them again and I post this to save others wasting their money.

I think that's the company that stole content from another company to build some templates they were selling. Yeah, their stuff never impressed me.

Can you right-click the template and "Open In Motion" to fix it up as you want it to work?

Ben is correct, PFS is mostly slow, never impressive and there still remains the odor of theft.

Anyway, for what you want to accomplish it might help to turn the title into a compund clip and retime that. Good luck!

Thank you for putting me on the right track.
I had to make into a compound clip and out compound clip into timeline then add a freeze farm in the middle.
Extend freeze frame so now I have there opening section, the middle freeze frame section and then ending section - I simply extend the freeze frame to give me the length I need.

Its a bit of a mess to simply place and set a lower third - their lower third pack has no 'Text' settings in the inspector. ... just a blank page for that so everything is set in the one page with the result that yiou have no real control - extending the title slows everything down as its all on the line layer.

I will never deal with them again.

In fairness I must report that Pixel Film Studios have refunded the cost of the Plugin.
Basically the problem is that the lower third only works for its default length. If you try to lengthen it, it no longer wordk properly. I asked them to test it but they simply refunded me.
