FCPX keeps quitting unexpectedly.

Trying to share a 2gb file and FCPX keeps quitting unexpectedly, what could be the possible reasons?
My firewire hard drive that i'm sharing the file to has 800 gb free and i'm working off 16gb of RAM and working with proxy files in FCPX. The Files i've imported are mp4.

First make sure that you have switched proxy media playback back to to original media before sharing. If this is not the issue:

Quit FCP X, then launch it again while holding both the ALT and the CMD keys down. This will reset your FCP X preferences. If this does not work: post back.

Ok so the export worked when I alt/cmd launched it, fcpx stayed launched for about an hour enough time to finish export but it's just quit again when i imported some more files-reset gain??

Did FCP X quit when importing the same kind of files? If so there must be something wrong with them and that's why you couldn't share in the first place.

You can indeed try refreshing again but I don't think this will help very much. Can you convert the files to a decent format prior to importing? Or can you optimize the files once they are imported?
