Some clips aren't showing up, and some seem to be corrupt. The next day everything is fine.
Does this ring a bell for anyone?
Please let me know what you think.
Thanks,
Eddie

for me, that indicates not the reader is the culprit but the SDcard is failing.
The brave-heartet just 'format' the card a few times (disc utility) and keep using it, the anxious (like me) drop it straight into the waste bin ... grandma rules: "buying cheap means paying twice!" - since I lost a few cheap cards (Lexar, no names, warehouses' own 'house brands' ... ) I'm using Sandisk and Samsung only => no fails ... so far.

Thanks very much for both of your suggestions. Tomorrow I'm going to buy a really good reader, and some of the SD cards that Karsten recommended.
Thanks!!

Anyway, here's a card reader I've had good luck with.

well, not really: The cam itself could be the culprit; cleaning the contacts could be helpful; or: imagine, you're using a very 'action paced' camera handling (=shaking like crazy) - a lose contact for a split-second could axe a whole recording ...
You have narrowed down the possibilities: say, your new card is ok, your Mac/software is ok - left are card-reader (
used for years a 5€ … now, my Mac mini comes with s SD-slot) and .. cam. Perhaps, it needs just a lil' professional check-up ... that 'erraticness' of your issues would indicate - me no technician! educated guess only! - a contact problem ...........________________________
btw:
in case you don't know how to hearty clean a professional camera ... :woohoo:
(WARNING! Not suited for Canon owners :silly: )
.. and don't miss the comments - hilarious!

Well, I'm still having problems uploading media from my SD Card.
But I just realized that there are two cameras that we use for our projects, and it's my associates camera that we're having the problems with. Media coming from my camera works just fine. Could it be a setting on his camera that is causing the problem?
Is there an optimal setting for FCP X that he can use?
Please let me know what you think.
Thanks!!! Eddie

If you can, try importing to FCPX that way. Any difference?
Also, I had a sudden problem with multiple cards once in my Nikon DSLR, blew air into the card slot in the camera and it hasn't happens since. I kind of don't believe it myself, but it did.

What camera (manufacturer/model)?

I'm not sure of the make and model at the moment. I can check over the weekend.
I was thinking that there might be some unfriendly setting with the frame rate, or something like that. It's a pro camera, and I don't think the problem is there... but I really don't know, that's why I'm here asking questions.
BTW, this forum is amazing. I've received so much great help here.
Thanks!!! Eddie

I just thought there might be a rule of thumb that I wasn't aware of.
