Corrupt FILM.fcpbundle file?

Aloha from Honolulu,

Until yesterday afternoon, I could open the Library containing a film I've been editing for 2 years.

Then, after closing the Library at one point, it would no long reopen. All auto back-ups no longer open either.

ALL other Libraries open without problem.

While loading the backup files, noticed that FCPX seems to read the non-working Library fine -- all projects appear to load -- until it gets to the FILM.fcpbundle file, whereupon FCPX crashes.

Have tried everything the Apple Discussion folks have suggested... and Creative Cow...

As the projects within the non-openable Library are edited scenes, I'm hoping it might be possible to place these in another, new Library, then stitch the scenes back together.

But...

How do I successfully move projects to a new Library WITHOUT opening FCPX?

Currently working with...

MacPro 2008
Latest OS X
Latest FCPX
All files within the non-working Library bundle

Mahalo!

Because your backups don't open either. Sounds like your user account became corrupted or a file that fcp library is dependent upon, like a plugin, media file or font is corrupted.

Try creating a new user account. Temporarily move your motion templates folder. Hide all your media so fcpx can't see it.

If those don't work goto another Mac, perhaps at the nearest Apple store.
