Upgrading Software Issue with Final Cut Pro X 10.1? was created by E Train
Hi, everyone:
I have the latest Mavericks, and I THOUGHT I had the latest FXP (10.1) because my Software Upgrade says that no updates are available (for anything). Yet, I am still using Final Cut Pro 10.0.9 (I clicked on About FInal Cut Pro).
So, what do I do? My app says I have the latest, yet there's 10.1 being talked about online.

What OS version do you have? Check the purchases page and make sure you;re logged in with the same Apple ID that purchased the software.

OS 10.9.4
Yet FCP says 10.0.9
And when I look at the App store, under FCP 10.1.2, it says INSTALLED.
What's up with that?
Thank you so much for trying to help me, Tom.

Do you have another copy that's been updated somewhere else on the drive or another mounted drive or Time Machine drive?

Not sure how do find that. Just Spotlight FCP and see how many folders I have?
Again, thanks for this.

FOUND THE SECOND Version. Uninstalled it. Let's see if I mess it up from here. I DO see the 10.1.2 version. I haven't updated yet. Reading how to now.
Tom, thank you so much.

If you have it don't bother updating. Just zip 10.0.9 to keep it and replace the application with a copy of 10.1.2. This is a major upgrade from 10.0.9 so read up about it before you do it.
You might start here with 10.1 and then read the 10.1.2 update

E Train,
Agree with Tom.
Zip, then read/think before you leap.
10.1.2 really is very different than 10.0.9 especially how it handles libraries/events/projects.
I recommend you also check out this…http://www.philiphodgetts.com/2013/12/upgrade-your-events-and-project-to-fcp-x-10-1-libraries-the-better-way/
You'll find other great links at …http://fcpx.tv
on upgrading.
I think you will really like 10.1.2 once you get your head around it.
Hope this helps, Greg
