I may be doing a shoot using two cameras soon. A Sony NX30P and a consumer Canon HF10. The NX30 will be shooting 50P but the Canon can only shoot 50I. In edit will FCPX handle both frame formats, or will it convert one on import, or do I manually have to convert.

I want progressive output only, so I guess import the Sony footage first.

Any tips or how to's please?

Doug

Do you need a 50fps output? Or 25fps? If the latter it would be best to edit in a 25p project.

Thanks Tom

25fps output -- can you explain what you mean though, I am a little confused. If I import the two different frame types, will FCPX still handle both on the same timeline and then simply convert the entire project to 25fps without me having to do any other messing about?

I am beginning to realise just how powerful this program is. Thanks for the patience Tom and the information.
