TEST 1

Apple OS X 10.9.4 Build 13E28 - Compressor 4.1.2 - Files used is QuickTime 1920X1080i Prores.
The Blu-ray creation work but if you re-insert the BD-RE disc (Verbatim) the disc refuse to eject.
You need to shutdown the computer to get the disc to eject because the finder get unresponsive.
The MACGO Blu-ray player refuse to play the disc but the disc play in regular Blu-ray players.
The burner used is LG BD-RE WH.16NS40 and everything is clean install two week ago.

TEST 2

Apple OS X 10.9.4 Build 13E28 - Toast Titanium 11.2 - Files used is QuickTime 1920X1080i Prores.
The Blu-ray creation work perfectly with the BD-RE disc (Verbatim) reinsert and the disc eject perfectly.
The MACGO Blu-ray player play the Blu-ray disc perfectly and also any home regular Blu-ray player.
The burner used is LG BD-RE WH.16NS40 and everything is clean install two week ago.

Conclusion : Since Toast Titanium 11.2 with OS X 10.9.4 work Apple Compressor 4.1.2 is the bug.
The disc created with Compressor have make Apple disck utility crash when try eject. :S

I'm not sure that I agree that what you've experienced confirms the existence of the bug. Since Compressor formatted a BD that would play on Blu Ray players, it seems to me it's more likely that there is something going on between your burner and the OS.

That's not to say that there aren't people reporting very real Blu Ray problems. The thread you mention is on the FCP X forum has a range of issues in it that seem to point to Create Disk. Some people report they can projects under an hour but not longer. Some report success in making disk images but not physical disks. And yet others are having no issues at all.

It will be interesting to see what experiences people here will report.

No home burned disk is going to play on every player absolutely. This has been an issue with home burned optical media since writable DVDs came into existence. Try a different brand of blank media. Try a different burner. They all could introduce their own compatibility issues with any other element in the chain.
