Hello,
Is there any way to "distort" or to curve the screen in the picture, to make like a HUD element? You can see that I managed to give it a 3d perspective, but I also want to bow the Y axis in order to give that appearance.

Is that possible in FCPX?

pd. Sorry for my english, it's not my native language

It is possible, but only with the right plugins I'm afraid.

If you have FxFactory Pro you will find a Bezier Distort plugin in the Distort category. It gives you full control over the x and the y axis and it is very easy to use:

If you don't have FxFactory Pro I don't think you will want to buy it just for this effect (it's 399 dollar for the complete plugin package).

You cannot do this without plugins in Motion either, but if you have Motion 5 you could slightly fake the curves with rounded bezier masks.

Unless anyone has a better solution?

This is what I exactly need! Thanks so much for the advice Ronny.
Wow that price tag is impressive, It's a shame that the plugin is not sold separately. Though there seem to be a lot of interesting FX in there..

I agree the package is not cheap but it has indeed much more than this filter. It's really up to the user to see how many of the different filters he will ever need before deciding if it's worth buying the package. But unfortunately it's the only filter I know of that does this in FCP X/Motion 5. If you have access to After Effects you wil find a similar filter there.

I was interested in your original post and began to look around at programs that would allow it.
Turns out you can also do this in Blender.
You can apply images to any wireframe or texture you create.
Just started playing around with Blender, pretty powerful, but will take a lot of time to learn.
Like the price.

I'm sure a plug-in is faster and easier.
Looks like you learned a lot from this project. How are you liking FCPX?
Hope this helps, Greg

Thanks for the tip Greg, in fact I had some experience with Blender in the past (8 years ago), but I forgot everything!! and now I am too lazy to re learn it hahaha. Seriously I like to work fast and that plugin did the trick for this time, though it's little heavy on CPU (I am on a Macbook laptop and FCPX canvas gets freezed time to time)

I am newbie on video editing -audio production is really my thing-, but dig FCPX for making this silly videos. I appreciate to learn new things here for making them more appealing!

Alvaro.
