Rename and view software? or FCPX Plugin?

Hi guys,

I'm looking for either a plugin in FCPX that will allow renaming of original files.. (which I doubt there is) , or..
software which allows you to easily view video files whilst being able to rename it. I need to send different video clips from a shoot to different people and working out the best way to do this... They don't use FCPX to edit by the way.

Are you just trying to send a clip or two or are you creating 2 versions of a project?

If the former, you can view your clips in the finder navigate to drive>Folder>clip>right/control click share> to send clip.
You can also view clip by selecting and hitting space bar and you can rename and add tags in finder if you want. By adding tags you can create a keyword collection in FCPX to put in a project if you have Create keyword collections from Finder Tags checked in Import preferences.

If you want to send different versions of a project you can either duplicate project and make any changes then share. Or you can use Audition to create different versions. Clip>Audition>whatever you want to do.
Once you create a QT movie file via share/export then they should be able to view on their system, does not require FCP.

TPayton has done an excellent job with his series of videos that are now posted on this site home page. Really gives you a run down on different ways to use metadata. Check them out.
I learned some new things and relearned things I forgot.
Nice to have a video reference for the different ways you can manipulate metadata and limitations to each.
