video FX following audio track rhythmic response... was created by alvarog01
Hello, i am kind new to FCPX. I try to make some musical clips where the FX automatically follow the audio track beat, i don't know how to nme this technique, but here is an example:
you can see how text and backgrounds move and squeeze following guitars an other rhythmic elements..
just wondering if is it there any plugin or dedicated tool for making such kind of things.. or is it done all by hand? in that case any tutorial for this?
thank you

This can easily be done in Motion 5 using the Audio Behavior.
You can make any parameter follow the beat of an audio track, or make specific objects or specific parameters follow separate frequencies of an audio track.
Here's a basic tutorial about using the Audio Behavior:
And here's a great (advanced) tutorial by Motion expert Simon Ubsdell:

Hi Alvarog01
As Ronnie says you can do this in Motion5.
Here are a couple of other video tutorials from MacBreak Studios. I enjoy Mark and Steve's vids.
Making particles dance to audio…
Making Text dance to music…
Hope this helps, Greg

Thanks Greg and Ronnie for your kind help.
Although I don't own Compressor it's always interesting to learn new things, I'll take a look at those tutorials.
To be honest I expected that FCPX had a "native way" to get automatic chained / keyframed FX parameters to rhythmic response of the audio track, but as I said I am new on this and maybe I expected too much from the nowadays software.

Your welcome Alvarog01
The program that animates is Motion 5 not Compressor. Compressor is used mostly for creating final delivery in different formats.
Once you create the effect/templet in Motion, you can publish it to FCPX and it will be available inside of FCPX for future projects. Motion is very powerful and pretty amazing once you get the hang of it. Many (most) FCPX plug-ins are made with Motion.
There may be a plugin already available that will meet your needs, anyone?
Hope this Helps and best of luck, Greg
