Background animated video opacity and layering was created by Starfox
Hi guys,
I have this nice animated EQ with text that I want to have throughout my project, I have done this in After Effects but I do all my editing in FCP.
I am wondering can I somehow use that animation as a background video in my current fcp project, so I could put still images along with music in this project and somehow have the animated EQ and text on top of the images? but maybe transparent and blended in nice? Im not an expert with video software so any help would be great
This is the animation i am talking about

I'm afraid the template you are linking to is an illegal download. You can purchase the official template here:
mocarg.com/audio-spectrum/
It's only 5 bucks, so it's worth it.
The template does not allow you to export backgrounds and EQ/text as separate layers. You can open the template in AE, select the Default Composition which is white EQ/text over black BG and export this from AE as ProRes 422 or Animation. Then in FCP X you can place the exported comp above your stills and use the Add Blend Mode on the comp clip to blend out the black background so the EQ/text appeared over your stills. You can colorize the EQ/text clip in FCP X and finally you can create a custom gradient background and put it under your stills and EQ/text clips.
