Choppy text and pans on Export from 1080p 30fps to Blu Ray

When I export from FCPX my project is 1080p 30fps and when exported to Blu Ray it sets the frame rate at
25 fps which I believe is causing pannig and text scrolling choppiness? Also Im getting slight pixelation on zoom outs from clip recording in 1080p?
How can I export the 1080p 30 fps so as not to get this choppiness?
Thanks!

Need the project properties not the clip. If you're editing true 30p, sure it's not 29.97, then the project should be that as well.

If I am true 30fps and I export to Blu ray at 25 fps could that cause the choppiness?

Yes. You should be aware that Blu-ray players in PAL countries support 29.97 playback. If your media is 30fps of would be better to output from 29.97fps project than a 25fps project. To go to 25fps from FCP to disc needs a 25fps project, unless you're doing something else.

So how can I migrate this project thats at 30fps to a 25 fps project so it looks good in the BluRay?
I wasn't sure what I was exporting it too originally just knew we had HD 1080p 30fps video. I guess a big mistake? Learning everyday.

Not necessarily. You're still changing the frame rate and that can create quite a lot of problems for encoding.

So right Tom!!
when I cut it over to 29.97 its shifting some clips around and resizing...dang I almost have it!

Tom I am wondering since I have the timeline static at this point exactly as I want everything...If I could lock it...or
if I create a giant compound clip of the project what would happen? and could I then copy and
paste into a new project at 29.97? without shifting clips?

Shifting how? Scale? Position? Shifting in the timeline may occur if you have retiming effects.

When I cut and paste it from 30 fps into a 29.97 project for export to Blu ray its shifting two of my clips causing overlap...strange its only two everything else looks great...

Tried a compound clip and it still overlaps these two sections of clips when pasted into the new project at 29.97........they have transitions etc...and when I do undo it shows that its undoing sequence changes...that must be automatic or something...
Im just doing a select all >>>copy>>>new project....setting it 29.97 and then paste....
when it throws off the clips I do an undo....and between copy and create new project there is an undo
of " undo sequence change" ? Im thinking this is whats shifting these two clips?

I have had that behavior before in complex projects copying from one frame rate to another. Sometimes it will leave a space, other times it will change the order of the clips. Similar things happened in FCP 7 as well.

What app are you making the Blu-Ray in? Toast?

I use FCPX for Blu-Rays and DVDs. It's never failed me.

Its a very very complex project...Im trying to convert 30p to 29.97 for a blu ray output which is where the shift occurs...right now Im exporting to .mov then going to try and re-import into a 29.97 and see if that works. My issue is the 30fps export to 25p in blu ray causes jitter in fades and scrolling text obviously because of the frame reduction...

Let me ask you in reverse,

1. Which app are you using to create the Blu-Ray? Yes having whatever that is converting 29.97 to 25p is a bad thing.

2. When you make a master prores and you check it's file attributes in QT does it say 29.97 or 30?

3. Why not just use FCPX to 'share' a blu-ray. It will just make it to the settings your project is set to.

FYI, when you drop a file in a blank timeline in FCPX it usually automatically changes it to the clip settings of the first clip you put in a project.
