Greetings all-
With 10.1.2's new media structure for optimized and proxy media, is it possible to leverage an Xsan by transcoding to proxy in one room while another room gets started on a job? Let me back up a second...
We have a quick turnaround project coming our way where the client is bringing in a ton of media and they want to get started right away. It's the kind of job that could really benefit from working in proxy. In my ideal scenario, Editor A could get started with the native media while Editor B transcodes those same files to Proxy. Once that's done Editor A would switch to Proxy mode and keep working.
This means that two editors would have to have identically named Libraries open on the SAN at the same time, correct? Is that dangerous? Possible?
Any thoughts on how to test this would be great. Thanks!
