Multicam with single camera-multiple take shoots

Multicam with single camera-multiple take shoots was created by eco_bach
I have just completed a shoot using a single camera with multiple takes of a musical performance(1 song).
I have manually synced all the additional takes as Secondary Story line and connected Compound Clips. My question is, would the multicam functionality in FCPX be at all useful in this case?
The caveat is that only portions of each take are usable, hence the usefulness of Secondary Storylines to see everything 'all at once' as thumbnails.

Assign camera angles for each of the takes and they will be compiled into a multicam clip of up to 48 angles.

Mr. Bach,
Yes! I believe that the Angle Editor is a most useful tool in your kind of project. You can assign camera angles for each take, as Tom has suggested. This will have FCPX try to sync things up for you.
You can also use the work you've already done using secondary storylines.
Add gap clips at the head of your secondary story lines so they all begin at the beginning of your primary storyline.
Then copy and paste the contents of each lane into a new angle in the angle editor.
It will sync up exactly how you have it already.
The bonus is that you can fine adjust the sync at any point later, and the changes will proliferate through whatever edits you make with the multicam clip.
This, I think you will find, is a much more powerful way to edit multiple take projects that have very similar action and sound.
Let us know if you give it a try, and if you find it helpful.
Cheers,
Scott M
