How do you do a video mixdown of a timeline segment? I tried Share/Master File but it only does the entire sequence. Thanks!

Select a Range with the Range tool ("r"). Anything from the In to the Out point of that range, at any level in the Timeline, will be included. It acts as a universal In/Out point, and when you export, only between them will be exported.
