Putting a project on different dvd regions

Hey,

I'm living in the USA and am making a 3 hour film for my family back home in the UK. The problem is that the USA and UK have different dvd regions (1 and 2)

Do the same rules apply to dvd that I make as opposed to dvd movies in terms of region?

Can I select what region the dvd itself is when I burn my project on to dvd?

I want to burn a copy for myself here in the US and about 4 copies for my family.

Also I have a UK Mac if that makes any difference.

I'd really appreciate some feedback.

Region won't matter, make sure the UK version is PAL, you'll be fine.

home-brews discs have no region-code…
(that's encoded on a track outside a dvd-r/dvd+r)

concerning PAL vs. NTSC:
Most/all DVDplayers here in Europe swallow NTSC discs.
