Re-attaching detached audio

I'm wondering if there is any way to reattach detached audio (aside from undo). For example, if I detached some audio and then my Mac Pro (late 2013) became unresponsive to all keyboard and mouse input as it likes to do because it's a Mac Pro and Mac Pros crash and I have to hard reset it and the audio is still detached and I would like to reattach it, is there a simple way? That was a long sentence, sorry. It's not a project breaker or anything, just curious if this can be done.

Oh great now some of the audio is in sync and the rest is completely out of sync. FCPX is supposed to never ever ever EVER under any circumstances ever go out of sync. No way to re-sync it because the audio is detached. Friggin' rubber band timeline. IT'S THA F00TUR3!!!

Nope. Project is lost. I have to rebuild the entire thing from scratch. No other way. This was a really long and detailed project, too. Multicam and all that crap and I despise doing multicam. It's like the audio was retimed, but it wasn't. The further down the timeline it gets, the further out of sync it goes. But everything is at 100% speed. Really upset with FCPX right now.
Also, what does this mean?

Sorry to see you're having so many problems Redifer. These are not common, so it's something specific to your situation- either hardware or something you've done, or both.
Going back to your original question, there's no way to re-attach audio once it's been detached from a clip. Audio can't go out of sync if it remains attached- if you detach audio, you're making the decision to abandon sync to either edit that audio or something.
The fastest way to simulate reattaching audio would be to "Shift F" to reveal the video clip in the event browser (which will still have attached audio) and then Insert or Overight edit it back into your timeline.
If you've lost your project you should be able to retrieve it from the autosave vault- the location for which is in the Preferences.
Hope this helps a bit.

Well here's the thing. My Mac Pro crashed while adjusting the audio level. I had a lot of S handles that I had manually put on the audio tracks for smooth-sounding transitions in a bunch of different places. What I think happened was that after the crash, FCPX just rebuilt everything the best it could and it treated the handles as normal audio (no overlap). That's why it gets more and more out of sync. I can't tell how far out of sync it is since it was permanently detached so I can only do it by eye/ear. There are also skips and repeats that have been inserted into the audio track that were not originally there. It's a multicam project which only exponentially multiplies the headache. I have started rebuilding from scratch and have about 5 or 6 minutes left of the project to finish. At least I can paste some of my attributes over from the broken project.

I've cut loads of multi cam over the last 2 years and have never had the sync issues you're experiencing. It's a pretty difficult issue to problem solve remotely like this.
