Happy weekend all-
I found out this morning that a promo I edited with FCPX picked up an Emmy last night.
The task at hand was to promote a series of Nature shows that were running the night before Thanksgiving. The talented writer/producer I work with came up with the concept and wrote the script (which really sells the spot) and we cut it together in about a day. FCPX allowed me to spin through about six hours of material quickly, tag favorites and a few keyword collections, and then switch to filmstrip view to identify the best shots.
The graphic endpage was also done in X, using some assets from After Effects and FCP's built in titler.
I used X2Pro to create the AAF that went to our sound designer for the final mix, and that was rock-solid as always.
It's certainly not an overly complex spot, but putting it together in FCP was fast and fun.

It's all carried by the idea isn't it! But you have to have the right tools to realise it or it's worth nothing.
FCPX is ideal for this kind of project - rapid shot finding and key wording then a spot of magnetic timeline.
Well done - made me smile and that would have made the message stick for me.
Ian.
