switched off video suddenly switched on in timeline

hey,

i have cut a feature documentary in fcpx

when there have been multiple camera shooting i have been syncing the three, having all three on the time line and then making cuts and switching the video off on the cam that i don't want to show at that time... this allows me to quickly see the other cams footage if i wish to make a change just by clicking the clip and pressing V.

The feature is over and hour and mostly multi cam.

I opened my project today and all the video clips that were switched off have switched on again... hundreds?

Is there a way to fix this other than manually?

and if i start doing it manually should i just switch the clip off again (V) or delete the unused clips or replace them with gaps if they are in the main storyline?

You might check the last backup library you have prior to the unwanted changes. You can do that from within the application (Open Library>From Backups) or by double-clicking the BU library in the Finder. Hopefully you'l get lucky and find the version you need. (Also – you may be doing this already but routinely making duplicates of a project are a good idea to lock in version histories.)

Not sure whether I see the benefits you do in the manual multi cam approach but you know your project's needs and requirements a lot better than I ever could.
