Tried an old version of Clipwrap but it stripped the audio from the video files and now it has stopped working altogethor so i'm looking for another way to convert these files to be used in FCPX any suggestions? I dont particularily want to pay for the latest verision of Clipwrap.

Is FCP X unable to ingest them?
After version 2.4, Clipwrap added support for a bunch of new cameras and formats which may be the reason. It's now available on the MAS, so you probably won't have to buy it again anytime soon.
